at the food lion
by samara
This is what Rainer Maria Rilke meant when he said to search for poetry in the seemingly plain places around us. I also love it when inspiration comes from images and the real, tangible world. The result is a sweet slice of life that effortlessly draws you into the beauty of the here and now.
Avoiding Dreams
by iMarkAnX
I chose this for a personal reason: I also sometimes dread my dreams. They show me mercy I cannot have, and I waste time on trifles to avoid sleeping. It gets me in the end. This poem, in its form and content, with its little plot twist, feels just like these nights.
My Shame Swallows Me Whole
by Elzada James
This is hard to handle, but the message is clear: the sun will rise, and we can and should try again.

Gifts That Never Were
by Kate Bluett
A wonderfully written insight into life. You can't lose what you never had. You can let it be and accept the unfulfilled potential as the price of being alive.
In Him All Things 🔊
by Mark Rico
Nature is filled with limitless beauty. You can zoom out, and the stars are beautiful, and you can zoom in, and the water breaking on stones is equally as gorgeous. The beauty comes from the stream of consciousness, by which nature delivers all this. No hesitation, just being.
cloudspeak
by wild honeysuckle
Sometimes, language is less about explanation and more about listening. “Cloudspeak” is inspired by Mary Oliver’s style, and it traces the invisible murmurs between little things, secret and tender
Chaos Horizon
by Amelie
Love has the transcendent power to make the world's woes seem almost pointless. It easily proves that humans were made for each other, and we should be for each other. If only we could extend that to the whole world.
If my Grandmother were still alive
by wds
